Imagination Library
Since 2017 the Friends of the EPL have been setting aside funds towards an Imagination Library for the children of our community. This effort began with memorials for longtime EPL Board Member Dennis Ridout, as his family's wish was that we would start a local Imagination Library. Since then, several other memorials and donations have come in, and finally a grant from the Eldon Wayne Williamson Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta gave us the final push we needed to begin our project.
All children birth to age 5 whose residence is within Emmet County are eligible to receive one book per month through this program. Books are carefully selected by a committee, are age appropriate, and do not duplicate during the span of time a child would participate.
To register your child, please visit https://imaginationlibrary.com/ and click on "check availability" to get started. If you prefer not to register online, you may download any of the following forms and leave them at the Estherville Public Library by mailing them to 613 Central Ave., Estherville, IA 51334, or by placing them in our drop box or delivering them to the library.
Donations and Memorials:
If you or your business or organization would like to contribute funds towards the ongoing maintenance of our Emmet County Imagination Library, please direct donations to the Friends of the Estherville Public Library (613 Central Ave., Estherville, IA 51334) and add a note designating your donation toward the Imagination Library fund. It has cost up to $463 per month to supply all registered children with monthly books, though any amount is helpful and welcome.
